Young Judo Club Promotions
Congratulates Club Instructors Keith Costa who has been promoted to 3rd Dan Black Belt and to Miles Brown who has been promoted to 1st Dan Black Belt.
The Young Judo Club founded in 1957 by Nobby and Margret Clarke is one of the countries oldest Judo Clubs. It has trained 100’s of people to Black Belt as well as producing International, Olympic and World class players. Since its humble beginning where it used to use a small hall in Milton Regis it now has two permanent Dojo’s (Martial Arts Training Halls) in Swale one at the East Street Sports Centre and one at the Academy of Sport & Movement at Milton Regis Playing Fields next to Nobby’s Gym. All this was achieved with the hard work of the Clarke Family and its members. Keith Costa now runs the Young Judo Club and is one of those who will not moan about not getting grants and subsisdies but just gets on with the job in hand and with great success. Miles now helps Dave Boulding instruct on a Thursday night at the Milton Regis Venue.
Recently a Martial Arts Instructor was sued by a student for teaching incorrectly, the Young Judo Club along with other clubs associated with East Street Sports Centre and Academy of Sport & Movement would like to point out that all its instructors are covered with a £5 million Professional Indemity policy, plus all are qualified to teach. The YJC abides by the Child protection Policy laid down by the IBF.
