This Annual event organised by the British CombatSombo Association and SamboUK attracted a great deal of interest from around the country and for the first time a large contingent from Holland. The Warriors Grappling Academy based at the Swale Martial Arts Club were at the fore front of the medals even though a lot of our senior players were not present.
18 year old Debbie Jackson return to Sombo competition was inspiring she won the Ladies event with some great throws, hopefully she will keep up this standard and maybe we may get a World championship medal at the Worlds next year in Bulgaria.

Danny Carrott can be such a lazy fighter making hard work of easy opponents in the final of the Light Heavy Weight section he met Dirk Jan-Kowens Holland who was getting the better of Danny in the beginning of the match with Danny seemingly in a dream it seemed he would have to make do with a Silver but then all of sudden as waking from a deep sleep he came to life and in rapid succession he threw his opponent three times to win the bout with a massive points lead.
Older brother Lee had to make do with a silver after a gallant attempt in the first part of the match he was caught in a very painful arm lock but managed to escape by going outside the area but the arm was damaged a few minutes later he had to with draw his arm hanging painfully by his side.
The warriors will be organising an International Kurash Wrestling Tournament in early February in March the British Sombo Open will held, teams from Scotland, N.Ireland, Holland, Switzerland, Germany, Spain have committed themselves to the event.
