SENIOR JANUARY GRADING

Members of the Senior Section of the Young Judo Club Sittingbourne recently took a grading under the auspices of the International Budo Federation the successful candidates were

Debbie Jackson 1st Kyu Upper Brown

Sheena Fathers 4th Kyu Low Blue

Neil Wise   4th Kyu Low Blue

Dave Clarke 6th Kyu Low Green

The examiners were especially pleased with Neil Wise and Dave Clarke as it was their first grading.

As reported earlier The governing body for Judo the British Judo Association has changed its rules to its members to belong to other Judo association and visa versa . Several of our Young Judo Club Black Belts, not all of them, took advantage of this step into Judo democracy and took out BJA membership, took a grading all of them had their grades confirmed John Clarke 4th Dan, Greg Garside, 4th Dan, Colin Carrott 3rd Dan and Danny Carrott 2nd Dan.

The Young Judo Club is one of the most qualified in the Country it has 8th Dan x 1, 6th Dan x I, 4th Dan x 2, 3rd Dan x 5, 2nd Dan x 4, 1st Dan x  5. When the club started 50 years ago in 1957 founders John Nobby Clarke was a 3rd Kyu Green Belt and Margret Clarke was a 6th Kyu White Belt both have now departed but I expect they are looking down from that great Dojo in the Sky and are feeling very proud of what they started.
