JUDO FOR THE 14 to 16 years and Beginners Adult Course
Miles Brown 2nd Dan is an IBF Judo Instructor as well as BJA Coach and has been teaching at the Young Judo club for several years. Miles wants to open a new section on a Wednesday night at 8.30pm at the Swale Martial Arts Club East Street Sittingbourne. Although the YJC has in access of 300 members we do have a short fall of older children and Adult beginners, Miles feels that by offering them a section of their own it may encourage more of them to participate. He intends starting the course in September at a really knockdown price of £6 for a 6 week course,

On Saturday June 23rd the Young Judo Club will be holding its Summer Club Championships at Bredgar Village Hall, this is the first time in several decades that a competition like this has been held in a Village location and it all part of the YJC effort to bring Judo to the people. On show at the event will be new mats, crash mats and grappling dummies all for the use of Bredgar Young Judo Club, these were all possible because of a Grant issued by the KENT COMMUNITY FOUNDATION who are department for Education and Skills, there aims are to create opportunity, release potential and achieve excellence. All these qualities the YJC foster and have done so for the last 50 years. Young Judo Club Sittingbourne, Bredgar, Bexley and Bromley will be participating.
Because of several Timetable changes and condensing Judo over 3 nights Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday the Swale Martial Arts Club has Thursday and Friday free and available for outside hire. The DOJO has recently had £30,000 spent on improvements and new equipment, it has an Olympic standard Judo Mat, showers and sauna, and it is suitable fro all forms of Martial Arts, Tai Chi and Aerobics.
