Child Protection Seminar Swale Martial Arts Club Saturday June 4th The days when an individual could buy a little bit of equipment and with good intentions of helping and coaching others, then go and form a sports club have well gone. Judo and Combat Disciplines are no different in 1957 when the Young Judo Club was formed by Nobby & Margret Clarke all they had was some old mattress now look at the list 1) Mats costing thousands of ponds have to meet all health safety regulations plus fire regulations 2) All Clubs should have Public Liability Insurance 3) All individuals cannot train with out PI insurance 4) All coaches must be qualified and have Professional Indemnity insurance 5) Most clubs have to register with the Inland Revenue a CASC 6) All clubs have a Health & safety Policy 7) All Clubs have Child Protection Policy 8) All Clubs have a Mission Statement 9) All Clubs have an Equity Policy I could go on and a lot of what clubs have to do is Political Correctness gone mad which has led to lots of Coaches giving up sport and clubs closing but one good thing has come out of this and that is the Child Protection Policy. Part of a Child Protection Policy is for the club to appoint Child Protection, the Young Judo Club has already several Child Protection Officers but the Club wants many more so we can look after the best interest of the child. Details of the course are listed: Child Protection TrainingThis is an introductory workshop designed for people working directly with children, managers and supervisors.
