International Budo Federation/IJF rules will apply plus IBF under eight (8) regulations, please see attached.
Under 8 boys and girls 9.00 am (Categories 1 & 4)
8yrs to 12yrs boys and girls 9.30 am (Categories 2 & 5)
13 yrs to 15 yrs boys and girls 10.00 am (Categories 3 & 6)

Coaches and competitors only at weigh in.
Male competitors must wear judo trousers and female’s judo trousers and tee shirt and all must wear the appropriate sports wear

INTERNATIONAL BUDO FEDERATION
CODE OF PRACTICE FOR 5,6,7 YEAR OLDS
TIME OF BOUT:
EACH BOUT SHOULD LAST A MAXIMUM OF 1.1/2 MINUTES.
HOLD-DOWNS:
EACH HOLD DOWN WILL BE FOR A MAXIMUM OF 20 SECONDS AND
WILL BE SCORED AS FOLLOWS: - 10-14 SECONDS SCORES YUKO; 15-19 SECONDS SCORE WAZARI AND
20 SECONDS SCORES IPPON.
PENALTIES:
THERE WILL BE NO PENALTIES BUT WARNINGS WILL BE GIVEN.
HOWEVER, SHOULD THERE BE A PERSISTENT BREACH OF RULES THEN
A LOW PENALTY WILL BE GIVEN.
TERMINOLOGY:
ALL TERMINOLOGY WILL BE IN ENGLISH AND JAPANESE.
TECHNIOUES NOT ALLOWED:
NO LIFTING TECHNIQUES WILL BE ALLOWED I.E KATA GARUMA, HIGH LIFTING HIP THROWS AND
STANDING SHOULDER THROWS AS THESE PUT TOO MUCH STRESS ON
THE CHILDREN. WHEN GROUND HOLDS ARE IN EFFECT THE NECK
MUST NOT BE COMPRESSED.
STRESS:
IF A CHILD IS CRYING OR SUFFERING WHILST ON THE MAT THEN THE
REFEREE WILL STOP THE CONTEST.
CHILDREN UNDER STRESS MUST HAVE ACCESS TO A COACH OR OTHER
RESPONSIBLE ADULT AFTER LEAVING THE MAT.COACHES OR PARENTS MUST NOT APPROACH THE TABLE OFFICIALS THEY SHOULD APPROACH THE COMPETITION ORGANISER OR SENIOR REFEREE.
IF THE CHILD CONTINUES TO BE UNDER DURESS. THEN THEY WILL BE WITHDRAWN FROM THE COMPETITION BY THE OFFICIALS.
REFEREES~
THERE WILL BE ONE REFEREE PER MAT SO AS NOT TO OVERWHELM
THE CHILDREN. REFEREES MUST BE AWARE THAT JUDO FOR 5,6 AND 7
YEAR OLDS MUST BE LIGHT HEARTED AND THEY SHOULD NOT BE OFFICIOUS

1/ Sacrifice techniques allowed, dangerous techniques will be penalised
2/ Golden throw, pool knockout & repercharge in use.
3/ Arm locks and strangles not allowed
4/ 0.5kg allowance for boy’s 0.6kg allowance for girls
5/ Please ensure that competitors make the weight group they enter, as groups may have been cancelled
6/ There will be no gold only categories
7/ If a weight group is cancelled before the competition day competitors will have entry money returned
8/ Competitors are only allowed to move up 1 weight group
9/ Competitors are not allowed outside of their age band
10/ If insufficient numbers weight groups or the competition will be cancelled
11/ Please ensure kits are clean
12/ No metal hair bands are allowed
13/ No ear-rings or nose or body piercing and no plasters covering them
14/ Sombo boots are allowed
15/ Senior Referee & Organiser’s decision will be final and the organizers will accept no responsibility for loss or damage or any claims arising from this event
